Artist Mary Ann Vessey

Mary Ann Vessey is a folk artist in Staunton Virginia. She paints rural landscapes and local Virginia and East Coast scenes.

Mary Ann Vessey is an oil painter who specializes in local Virginia cityscapes, seascapes and landscapes with an inclination towards folk art and Americana. She has been painting and showing her art work at galleries and art festivals for over 30 years, and has collectors of her art both nationally and internationally. Her paintings are now being published as puzzles by several international companies and you can buy them online through sites like Amazon.

Her love affair with the land began as a child exploring the fields and streams on my grandparents' farm in central Georgia. After finishing school in l976 my husband and I left the city and moved to Virginia's Shenandoah Valley just south of Staunton. We chose the Valley because of its penetrating beauty. How can you not be moved by the rolling pastures and blue mountains, the wild flowers and wild animals, the cows and sheep and horses that pepper our valley - just stunning. Mary Ann will not only be an Exhibitor, she will be a featured Demonstrator!
